I understand that the gas mileage on the crossplane crankshaft is nowhere near that of the earlier inline 4's, (I think the specification lists 33MPG on the Yamaha website), but it would be great to hear what your average MPG numbers are (average not instantaneous). I've see your posts on youtube and thanks for all the info you've laid out thus far!!!Īny info you can give me would be appreciated! At any rate, it bothered me enough that I eventually removed the PC3 so I could ride longer and not have to stop for gas. It was a pain to be the "guy" always having to stop and get gas when my buddies and I were doing long canyon rides. My MPG went from about 42MPG to about 29MPG. While it ran cooler and the powerband was better, my gas mileage dropped considerably. R1-Forum is a Yamaha R1 motorcycle enthusiasts community dedicated to Yamaha YZF 1000 R1 sportbike. The sound was awesome, then I custom tuned it with a PC3. Has it gone up or down following your ECU flash? The reason why I ask is that my first R1 (06'), I had put on a pair of racing baffles. I have a question about gas mileage after you tuned the bike. I am definitely going to put on a pair of two brothers slip-ons as well. I absolutely love how it handles thus far. That seems odd, usually things cost less for the older models. However, If I had an 07+, I could get it done from say Superbikes unlimited, for only 110. I just picked up the exact same year and color R1. B/c I have an 2005 R1, my only flash option is Ivans Performance Products which last I checked was about 350.00.
